Chernihiv.IT ProsvITa 2019: summer edition

On June 24-27, 2019, the Chernihiv IT Cluster held a regular ProsvITa training program for students of the Chernihiv National Technical University. This time it was held in the format of thematic days: “Development Day”, ‘Project Management Day’, ‘Business Analysis Day’, ‘HR Day’. Each day was full of interesting and useful reports, cases, and practices. Students were able to get not only a lot of information from various areas of the IT industry, but also answers to their questions and advice from experts from Chernihiv IT companies on where to get additional data, what to read, and how to “improve” their skills.

It was nice to see not only future IT professionals, but also students and even teachers of other specialties among the participants, as topics such as project management and business analysis are now an integral part of the workflow in many areas.

What was special this time was that the new role of speakers was tried on by current students of the National Technical University of Ukraine, who are undergoing an internship at one of the IT companies of the Cluster. According to them, they gained a lot of experience and the opportunity to open up in a new environment of “public speaking”. In this way, Chernihiv IT Cluster provides a platform and prospects for the development of local speakers.

The program ended with the HR Day, where students received comprehensive information on where and how to look for a job, how to write a resume or motivation letter that recruiters will really notice, what kinds of interviews are held and how to prepare for them, what you should and should not say at an interview - all the life hacks, tips and tricks from HR! Each participant presented himself or herself, and in groups, students wrote resumes for real vacancies and talked a lot with recruiters.
